Comfort temperature and reduction: what they are and what they are for

Understanding what the comfort temperature is is very simple and intuitive. Imagine coming home on a particularly cold winter evening. That warmth that envelops you as soon as you enter and "melts" you in a relaxed sigh is what we could call  comfort temperature . In other words, that temperature at which  the heating can be turned off  because you feel good. 

At what comfort temperature should you set the thermostat?  According to the WHO it is best not to exceed  21 °C .

What is the reduction temperature?  This is a little less intuitive, but we can understand it in contrast to the comfort one.  The reduction is the minimum temperature you want to have in the house . 

Suppose we have set it at 18°C, if the temperature drops below the heating will turn on.

Further curiosity: what is the   maximum temperature of a thermostat ?

Seitron thermostats normally have a  operating range between 0 and 40 °C , which means that you could potentially set 40 °C at home, but this would of course be an exaggeration.

It should now be clearer what comfort and reduction temperatures are,  but what are they for?  Since the ultimate purpose of heating is to keep me warm, isn't it enough to set the comfort levels and then turn it off when you go out or when you go to sleep?

In reality this is not really the case. Throughout the day it is good that the heating has a  minimum temperature  that can still maintain heat and reduce humidity.

In reality, the regulation  differs between the various models , but there is a feature common to all, namely  symbols on the thermostat . Usually  the comfort temperature is indicated with the sun symbol , while  that of reduction is indicated by the moon .

In general, therefore, it will be sufficient to identify the keys or knobs that indicate these  symbols  to adjust the two temperatures.
